Top tips for Container Transport Success

Why you need to weigh your containers

When it comes to container trasport, you might not realise that the weight of your container/s is of vital importance. This is because if it’s too heavy then legally your container can’t be transported. That means you have to waste time unpacking it to bring your container into an acceptable weight. The best way to ensure an accurate weight is to weigh it while you load the container. You might have industrial scales, or use a forklift with scales when you’re loading your container. This way, you can weigh each load, keeping track of the weight. Then you’ll know exactly what the container weighs. This makes things easier, faster and more cost effective for you.

The legal weight restrictions are as follows:

20 tonne over the triaxle of the trailer and 16.5 over the rear wheels of the Prime Mover
